GTA and Partners Unveil Akwaaba Village, Setting the Stage for a Festive December Ambiance

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with key partners such as the Ghana Exim Bank, the Ghana Trade Fair Company, and the Ghana Airports Company Limited, is set to launch a month-long family-oriented event known as Akwaaba Village. This initiative is a central component of the December in GH activities, designed to provide memorable experiences, showcase locally made goods, and celebrate Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through music, food, and art.
Scheduled from December 15th, 2023, to January 8th, 2024, near the Hajj Village close to the Airport Roundabout, Akwaaba Village is poised to become a family-friendly celebration fostering community spirit and highlighting the vibrant essence of Ghana. December is recognized as an opportune month for global tourists to experience the culture and warmth of the Ghanaian people, making the introduction of Akwaaba Village a significant aspect of the December in GH 2023 festivities.
The event promises a diverse range of attractions, including cultural showcases with captivating performances, traditional music, and dance. Visitors will have the opportunity to embark on a culinary journey with a variety of local Ghanaian dishes representing different regions. The event will also feature a display from local artisans, providing a unique shopping experience for handmade souvenirs.
