I Dare You to Come to Kumasi – Wontumi To Rev. Owusu-Bempah
Written by Prince Swaggart on October 8, 2024
Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi has taken up the challenge by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, to come to Kumasi and influence their voting pattern to favor the opposition National Democratic Congress and their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
There is currently simmering tension between Rev. Bempah and the NPP following his prophecy that Mr Mahama will win the upcoming December elections.
During a Clergy meeting with the President, the Prophet told Ex-Prez Mahama; “Because of your kind-heartedness God has handed over the country to you and nothing can change it.”
Owusu Bempah Warns NPP
After declaring in favor of John Mahama, the Prophet also dared to reduce the votes from the New Patriotic Party’s stronghold, Ashanti Region, if they keep challenging the credibility of his message.
“If you dare me and I enter Kumasi, you won’t get even 60% percent of the votes”, he angrily said before his congregants last Sunday, 6th October.
He continued to issue warnings to the ruling party to stop making any further utterances concerning him or he will embark on a spiritual mission that will result in the ruling party losing the elections abysmally.
“Heaven is angry with this ruling party. The earth is also angry. So, I am not the problem; don’t channel your frustrations and anger towards me. God said he will give the nation to another person. I will put it in the hands of another political party. It is so funny that some people are challenging me.
“Do you know the hand that is on President Mahama and when it came upon him? It wasn’t on the day he had a meeting with the Clergy but rather during the time that Wontumi’s guys insulted and accused me on TV that I sabotaged Prophet Kusi Boateng’s ability to build the cathedral. So, I envy the Prophet and that it is the devil that talks to me; that I am not of God. Meanwhile, when these people were talking about me on TV, I saw dwarfs surrounding them”, he further stated.
“Can you challenge me, God’s servant; the great Owusu Bempah?”, he questioned.
Wontumi’s Response
But less than 24hours after throwing down the gauntlet, Chairman Wontumi dared Rev. Owusu Bempah to travel to Kumasi to work against the NPP.
“I dare you! I dare you!! I dare you!!!”, the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman exclaimed during an interview on Wontumi Radio.
He continued; “The NPP is our blood…It’s not like we can’t respond to your lies. Is it NPP that caused your arrest? How can you lie like this? When you were playing your games with Agradaa, were we there? Do we know how you became friends with Agradaa?”
Wontumi Reveals Secrets About Owusu Bempah
Chairman Wontumi disclosed the reason behind Owusu Bempah’s fury at the New Patriotic Party, revealing the man of God is pained in heart against the party because he feels the NPP abandoned him when he was arrested some time ago.
It could be recalled that Owusu Bempah and some of his followers were arrested following his kerfuffle with Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, formerly called Nana Agradaa, where some of his guys brandished a gun online in the wake of their fight.
Owusu Bempah and his young Pastors also went to Agradaa’s private residence to accost her which resulted in a heated trade of insults between the rivals.
This was followed by an arrest of Rev. Owusu Bempah and his Pastors but the man of God who, hitherto, was the “darling” of the governing party has now turned against the NPP.
Wontumi, in his interview, outlined the circumstances that led to Owusu-Bempah’s arrest, insisting the NPP had no hand in it neither did the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who is also someone that the man of God seemingly dislikes.
Wontumi recounted that the NPP Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, informed him about the arrest of Owusu-Bempah and he (Wontumi) immediately contacted the IGP to intervene on the Prophet’s behalf.
“So, I called Dampare…Dampare is my brother. So, when I called Dampare, he explained to me that his Police officers went to his (Owusu Bempah) church because his guys brandished a gun on TV and due to this, the officers laid in wait to arrest them in the church but the church members manhandled the officers. So, I said to Dampare that I don’t agree with him sending his officers to Owusu Bempah’s church because Owusu Bempah is not a stranger that he (Dampare) cannot politely invite him for questioning instead of going to effectively his arrest in church.
“And he (Dampare) responded that the Police adminstration is not only about me; it’s about all of us. So, Chairman, it is the Police adminstration that has decided to effect the arrest and that he (Owusu Bempah) wasn’t even on the list. He (Owusu Bempah) wasn’t initially part of the people the officers went there (church) for, but it became necessary for the Police to include him after he came to the Police station claiming the guys were his people and causing disturbance at the station.
“So, the Police resolved that if he claims to have a connection with the guys, then he should also be investigated. So, decision was made by the Police administration…This has nothing to do with Dampare…I then called Owusu Bempah back and told him what Dampare has said and further said to him he lied to me because he didn’t tell me the whole story”, Wontumi narrated.
He added that he even tried to get Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng, founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, to pull a few strings to release Rev. Owusu Bempah but the latter was displeased.
“He (Owusu Bempah) replied why should I (Chairman Wontumi) call his junior Pastor (referring to Prophet Kusi Boateng to intervene in his affairs?”, the NPP Regional Chairman spilled the beans.
He stressed; “All these stories about Dampare not being good and must be sacked is because of this. This is how it all began.”
Chairman Wontumi subsequently dared Owusu Bempah to go ahead with his assertion to ruin the NPP’s votes in the Ashanti Region.
“What wrong has NPP done against you?”, he asked and revoked Owusu Bempah’s curses against the party stressing “what God wants is what will come to pass”.
