Few hours ago, a signed statement was released by the man at the helms of affairs at Square Records that its first signing, May D was no more with the music label. The reason, according to the statement, was due to some irreconcilable differences.
The unedited statement reads;
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I,JUDE ‘ENGEES’ OKOYE of Square Records Limited and Northside Entertainment Limited hereby
announces to the general public that Mr. Akinmayokun Awodumila, otherwise known as MAY D is no longer an artiste under the aforementioned outfits due to irreconcilable differences.
We at Northside and Square records wish him all the best in his career and life.
Yours Faithfully
Signed:
Jude ?Engees? Okoye
CEO, Northside Ent. Ltd/Square Records
Few minutes ago, our source placed a call through to May D to get his side of the story. According to him, May D claimed that he is not aware of his split with P-Square of he being booted out of Square Records.
He told us that he is just waking up to hear that he is no more officially with the label. A source, who begged for anonymity, told Nigeriafilms.com that there was no signed agreement between May D and Square Records, but just a verbal agreement. This, Nigeriafilms.com may not subscribe to because we believe P-Square would understand better the ethics of doing business with an artiste who is not their immediate family member.
May D was signed to Square Records some months ago. He featured in the smash hit single ‘Chop My Money’ by P-Square which also featured Akon. He was at the burial of Late Mrs Okoye held on August 2, 2012 in Anambra State.
