Dr. Amoakohene Announces Kumawood Revival Plan After Ashanti Festival 2025 Success

Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene has taken a major step toward reviving the Kumawood movie industry, assembling an all-star committee to lead the charge. The Minister made the announcement on his facebook timeline, following the success of Ashanti Festival 2025.
In his post, Dr. Amoakohene revealed:
In my quest to support the revival of the movie industry in the Ashanti Region, I set up a dedicated team to engage stakeholders and explore strategic pathways for bringing our beloved Kumawood industry back to life.
While working on this important task, the team also showcased their creativity and unity through a brilliant performance during the recently held #AshantiFest2025. I’m pleased to announce that they have now presented a comprehensive report on the Kumawood project – a product of their dedication, teamwork, and passion for the arts.
“Kofabae” as he’s affectionately called by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, concluded his announcement with an optimistic note:
