Business Mogul King Boat Enstooled as Kontihene of Ayeduase

Renowned Ghanaian businessman Mr. Kwadwo Boateng, popularly known for his thriving enterprises at Cow Lane in Okaishie, Greater Accra, has been enstooled as the Kontihene of Ayeduase in the Ashanti Region.

Following his enstoolment, he now bears the royal title Nana Owusu Antwi Boateng, serving as the second-in-command to the Chief of Ayeduase, Nana Opoku Agyemang Bawuah Bonsafoh III (Otumfuo Brempong).

The enstoolment ceremony was held on Monday, 4th August 2025, at the Ayeduase Palace, drawing a large gathering of traditional leaders, business associates, family, and well-wishers. The occasion was a colorful display of Ashanti culture and royal tradition.

Mr. Boateng is widely known for his contributions to Ghana’s commerce sector through his flagship electrical business, King Boat Electricals, and the reputable King Boat Fishing Nets shop, both located in the bustling Cow Lane business district in Okaishie.

The chief of Sekyere in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Kwabena Onin Pobi II and Queen Nana Yaa Antwiwaa II and the Sekyereman, have donated a 300 acre land to the Film industry and the Government to use for the construction of the proposed Film Village.

His elevation to a traditional leadership role reflects not only his personal achievements but also the trust and respect he commands within the Ayeduase community and beyond. As Kontihene, Nana Owusu Antwi Boateng is expected to play a significant role in supporting the Chief in developmental matters, cultural preservation, and the promotion of unity and progress within the Ayeduase traditional area.

Mr. Boateng’s dual impact as a business mogul and now a traditional leader sets a shining example of how successful individuals can leverage their influence and resources to serve their communities and uphold the values of Ghana’s chieftaincy institution.
