Highlife Legend Dada KD Passes Away

Ghana’s music industry is in mourning following the reported death of celebrated Highlife musician Nana Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD.
Tributes have been pouring in on social media from fellow artists. Gospel singer Empress Gifty simply wrote, “Dada KD,” while Broda Sammy expressed, Rest in peace, champion musician Dada KD.” Highlife artist Dada Hafco also shared his shock, posting, “KD? Chaleee Ei.”
When Graphic Showbiz contacted, Dada Hafco confirmed the news, stating that although he lacked details, he had received the information from a reliable source.
If you ask me to confirm myself, I can’t because I’m not around where the incident happened, but somebody called to tell me, and that is a very credible source,”
he said.

Dada KD’s passing comes just days before he was scheduled to perform in London alongside artists like Obrafour, Slim Buster, and Kojo Blakk on May 25.
Known for hits such as “Odo Tekyerema,” “Ene Menye,” “Wosuro a Wondi,” and “Honey Love,” Dada KD leaves behind a rich musical legacy that has shaped Ghana’s Highlife scene.
His fans and the entertainment community continue to celebrate his contributions while awaiting further details on his passing.
