Sensational Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Eugene Kwame Marfo, widely known as Kuami Eugene has released the official visuals to his classic “Tena Fie” single on his debut Afro-Highliglife EP.
With assistance from legendary Ghanaian Highlife singer George Darko, Richie Mensah, and Afro Harmony, the Lynx Entertainment act, sampled the King of Burgar Highlife’s “Ako Te Brofo” beat, performed, and recorded it live.
During his Afro-Highlife Private EP Listening which was held at The Basement Bar & Lounge in Kumasi on Wednesday, November 10, the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, disclosed that the beat has been used by legendary Ghanaian musicians like; George Darko, Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede, and other gospel greats. This influenced him to add his name to the list.
I needed a song that represents Highlife music, so if you hear all the five songs on the EP, you could tell I had a feel of Afrobeat and highlife, but this very last song, has no Afrobeat attached to it. It’s authentic Highlife music,
And it has that old George Darko, Daddy Lumba, “that old vibe” that is what entails the fact that Richie Mensah, myself, and Afro Harmony is part of that song.
And that song was actually produced live, everything was live, we had a lot of people, we were about 15 in one room producing that song,
