Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah arrested by National Security

Sources close to his family have confirmed that “Okatakyie was picked up by persons identifying themselves as National Security Operatives around Kissieman (near GIMPA, in Accra)” after he closed from his evening lectures at GIMPA.

We are following up at the National Security headquarters to understand what is happening. We urge the general public to support in securing his release.

A family member said.

Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, formerly of Angel FM and currently running his own online media platform, For The Records show, is an outspoken critic of the John Mahama government. He hinted on his show last week that he had been informed that Richard Gyakpa-led National Security was at the airport searching for him.

Another source close to the family shouted,

Is this what the new John Mahama government is bringing? Arresting critics in the dead of night? This is undemocratic. We demand his immediate release.

Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin in a Facebook post called for the release of Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah with immediate effect.
